It is probably foolish to try to address the issue of Biblical Prosperity on this web site, but I feel the understanding of money and wealth is greatly misunderstood in the church world. There are two extreme points of view, niether representing the whole view of the word of God.

View #1: It is somehow "spiritual" to be poor, or having lots of income or money isn't the Lord's will.

View #2: You somehow have the "right" or privilege as a child of the King of Kings to live in luxury or abundance.

Rather than throw bits of scripture, many times taken out of context, at either end of the discussion - the whole counsel of the Word of God is obviously reflected in the life of Jesus. The privileges He could have clothed Himself in, He laid down.

Neither did Jesus embrace poverty. Poverty was and is a curse that Jesus came to destroy as a work of the devil. My view of Biblical Prosperity is that we passionately pursue the purposes of God for our life, and then have the financial means to fulfill that destiny. That is going to look different for each person.

The Ten Commandments of a Christian Home Based Business

Proverbs 30:8 "Give me neither poverty nor riches."

The Bible is for wealth, not against. It is the LOVE of money that causes trouble. Money is just a tool to fulfill our destiny.

I have good friends that are millionaires and others than make strong 6 figure incomes. I have many that make almost nothing. It is not the amount that matters, it is the heart aggressively pursuing the Lord Jesus and apprehending what is needed to do HIS will.

Being rich is probably the most vulnerable calling their is. Even Solomon in all his wisdom let it ensnare him later in life. God will entrust riches to those who have been faithful in little first. (Matthew 25) He also warns it is harder to get to heaven if you are wealthy. (Matthew 19)
