The
phenomena that accompanied the "Toronto Blessing*" was
very familiar to our church and family. On this particular night some
young men from Toronto were visiting our church. As the Spirit began
to move, our son who was 12 years old at the time, went up to the
altar area to pray. This was not something he did very often.
As
the young men prayed for him, he went out in the spirit and was
laying on the ground.
As
he was on his back on the floor, he feet began to move VERY fast. If
it was as if he was running at an incredible pace. He eyes were
closed and he was not communicating with us. Our only concern was
that his legs were moving so quickly that his head was bumping the
floor. My wife and I sat by him and put she put his head in her lap.
This
lasted over half an hour.
All
of a sudden he sat upright very quickly, just like a person would
who wakes up suddenly from a deep sleep . It took him a couple
minutes to get his bearings and we asked him a couple of questions
after he assured us he felt fine. The first thing we wanted to know
is what he remembered over the last 30 minutes.
He
said all that he remembered is that there was a long stairway that
he was climbing up and up. There were angels going up and down this
stairway. It reminded me of the patriarch Joseph’s encounter at
Bethel. "He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on
the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God
were ascending and descending on it." Genesis 28:12
When
he got to the top of the stairway, he said he met Jesus there, and
that Jesus told him what he was going to do with his life. Of course
the next question was obvious, I wanted to know what Jesus said, and
my son said he didn’t remember. This was OK with all of us as
God spoke something deep into his heart that maybe his mind
couldn’t understand or comprehend at that point in his life.
What
thrilled my wife and I is that my son had an encounter with the
Living God.
Insight
to apply to your Christian Home Based Business: Those who are
successful, especially those who are ultra successful, always have a
huge sense of purpose or destiny. The Lord may be calling you to
cultivate a Christian home business for reasons deeper or broader
than your mind can even imagine at this point. I know that has been
true for me.
One
possible application: Make sure your "Why?" is strong.
This is a common characteristic of successful entrepreneurs. Watch my

*If
you are not familiar with the Toronto Blessing, it basically begin
as a sovereign move of God’s Spirit in the 1980‘s in
Toronto Canada, similar to many other outpouring of God’s
presence through the centuries, beginning at the Day of Pentecost in
Acts chapter two. In the strong move of the Holy Spirit upon the
Church, peculiar reactions to His presence can include shaking,
crying, feeling of drunkenness, etc. The people we had pastored had
occasionally been blessed with such visitations, many years before it
broke out in a big way in Toronto.
My

the ways God has and does move by His Holy Spirit in the Earth. We
