The 10 Commandments of a Christian Home Based Business
II.
Thou Shalt Choose Affiliations Wisely.
The companies and people you choose to hook up with to establish and
grow your Christian home based business will make a HUGE difference
on your journey. These relationships will affect your rate and level
of success. They will also make the difference if you are having fun
and enjoying the journey!
How do you know what companies or people to be linked up with?
The best advice I can give is to take your time as your
research your options to start or grow your business. Anyone that
tries to rush you into something is NOT looking out for your best
interests. All non-sense like "pre-launch" or "best
position" is just hype. Think about it - if it really is
important to get into something right now, then why would you want to
promote its growth next month when it is too late?
Any legitimate organization or team will have personal contact available
also, even if it is just good customer service. If you can't connect
to a real human - be careful.
Another good guide in the how to pick good affiliations is to
consider the longevity of the organization coupled with the
satisfied clients or customers. Any business will have complaints -
people are just that way, but you should be able to see a track
record of happy clients, reps, or customers from the affiliation.
I've made my share of mistakes. Some people simply misrepresent
themselves or their companies. I've never lost a dime or a day though
waiting and doing research. You can get stuck in "analysis
paralysis" - but thorough investigation will serve you well.

One final note. I've talked to thousands of people, and there are
some that only want what is free. The bottom line is you get what you
pay for in the long run. Quality business associations will require
an investment. FREE is not one of the things to look for or expect
when choosing your affiliations. If you have no money to invest in
your Christian home based business, you should get a second job for a
season to build up some funds to start and fuel your business. More
on that in Commandment VII.
