The 10 Commandments of a Christian Home Based Business
III.
Thou Shalt be Disciplined.
One of the major factors that leads to failure in many Christian Home
Based Businesses is lack of consistent action. Too many depend upon
inspiration or an emotional charge to get going. The problem with
that is it is very temporary.
Christians should be the most disciplined business owners there are.
We are called disciples after all! Our motivation should spring from
a deep well of conviction that acknowledges the sober reality that
the progress of our destiny, which includes building a business, will
not only affect our life and family, but many others also.
We
are building for the Kingdom's sake to honor our King. So, when the
emotions or inspiration isn't there, or we hit a brick wall, or any
number of other distractions or deterrents come our way - WE KEEP
GOING. We keep going because we know our Christian home based
business is bigger than just us.
Determine the daily activities that actually move your business
forward. Discipline yourself to engage daily or regularly in these
things. It is tempting to sit and read emails or look at our
company's web sites, or listen to more calls, etc. This isn't
building your business. Putting yourself in front of people that want
what you have to offer is building your business. I've chosen to do
this on-line and at home. It is fun, but also for the less
disciplined, it can be a difficult strategy to stick to.
Of course there are days or short seasons of emergencies or trauma or
family upheaval that interrupts our business. By God's grace we
survive these seasons and move on.
